The House subcommittee investigating the ‘hot fuel" ripoff asked the CEOs of ExxonMobil and shell to testify at a hearing last Friday. Exxon’s Rex Tillerson and Shell’s John Hofmeister were no-shows, sending kiss-off PR statements instead.  What gall these guys have, assuming that they answer to no one and that their lobby will dispose of any unfriendly legislation. (For more on the hearing in the House Domestic Policy subcommittee, and the "hot fuel" ripoff, see my previous posts here and here.) We’ve heard there may be more hearings, and possibly language on hot fuel in the new energy bill. If it takes a subpoena to get these guys to sit down for a public hearing, Congress shouldn’t hesitate.
