I jokingly suggested in front of the microphone yesterday that if gasoline marketers don’t want to sell fuel compensated for temperature, they should just post the temperature of the fuel in their underground tanks right up with the price per gallon. You’d have thought I was wearing snakes on my head, from the lobbyists’ reaction. Stations already measure their fuel temperature in continuous real time, but it’s sure not a secret they want to reveal to consumers.
