The New York Times today offered up a tight list of all the wrongs that the new Interior Secretary, Sen. Ken Salazar of Colorado, will face the minute he walks into his new office, from sex and drug scandals to a politics-over-science mentality. Not everyone is happy with the choice of Salazar; some environmentalists see him as too corporate-friendly, but Salazar knows the energy business. He has opposed the worst of the Bush Administration giveaways, including massive oil shale leases that would rip up his home state.
In his brief remarks with President-elect Obama yesterday, Salazar made it clear that he’s carrying out Obama’s energy and environmental plan, not his own. Want to help him stick with it? Send OilWatchdog’s free message to Congress demanding a "cleaner and cheaper" green energy policy.
