It doesn’t seem like committee members had a chance to reflect during the one hour recess. Questions from members after returning from their votes seem to be in the same vein as from before the recess, drawing the same, evasive answers from Hayward.
Markey denounces Hayward for "equivocation" in his answers to questions about BP’s denial of plumes in the ocean. Technical or otherwise, Hayward will evade, but this should not come as much of a surprise.
Monday’s hearings with CEOS of the other Big Oil companies weren’t much different, evasion-wise, from Monday’s hearing with oil other CEOs. Or hearings in 2008 on stratospheric energy and fuel prices. The ability of members of Congress to follow up their own or each others’ quesitons hasn’t improved much, either.
